Battlefield: Hardline – PC Will Sport Higher Quality Visuals Than Current-Gen Console Versions

Visceral Games’ Gameplay Systems Producer, Mike Glosecki, has revealed that the PC version of Battlefield: Hardline will feature higher quality visuals than those found on the current-gen console versions.
As Glosecki said, PC gamers will be able to enjoy higher quality textures, higher quality texture filtering, higher amounts of anti-aliasing, and will be able to adjust their Field of View.
“You can also use much higher graphic settings on PC – which you gives you the best texture filtering, texture quality, and anti-aliasing in addition to other benefits. You can adjust your field of view or run higher than 60 FPS if you choose. You can even play with a three monitor setup for an immersive experience. Lastly, you get to use a mouse and keyboard which gives you the best control setup for a first person shooter.”
Battlefield: Hardline releases on March 17th, and Visceral Games also claimed that stability has been one of the most crucial things its been focusing on. In short, Visceral and EA want to avoid what happened with Battlefield 4, and from what we’ve seen, they won’t have any trouble achieving that.

The Witcher 3’s Strong Sexual Content, Intense Violence and Gore Detailed for PS4, Xbox One and PC

We’ve always known that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won’t be for gamers with a weak stomach, or those that don’t enjoy seeing quite a lot of skin, and today the obvious “M for Mature” rating released by the ESRB did not disappoint.
This is an open-world role-playing game in which players assume the role of Geralt, a monster hunter in search of a missing woman. Players explore a war-ravaged world while completing quests and killing enemy soldiers and fantastical creatures (e.g., wraiths, harpies, rock beasts).
Characters engage in melee-style combat using swords and other bladed weapons, as well as magical attacks (e.g., blasts of fire, stun spells); combat is highlighted by screams of pain and impact sounds. Large blood-splatter effects occur when enemies are slashed, with some attacks resulting in decapitation or dismemberment.
Some cutscenes depict slow-motion decapitations and other gore: an autopsy of a torture victim, rooms with several corpses (e.g., hanging from the ceiling, covered in blood on a bed, naked in a tub).
During the course of the game, the central character can engage in sexual activity with prostitutes and female companions. These brief sequences depict females’ breasts and buttocks—sexual moaning sounds can be heard, though the camera cuts away from explicit sexual acts.
The game includes a side quest in which Geralt engages in a drinking game; characters are depicted drunk and/or passed out. The words “f**k,” “sh*t,” and “c*nt” can be heard in the dialogue.
Content Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Alcohol.

Grand Theft Auto V – PC Version Delayed Once Again, Now Coming on April 14th

Well, it seems you’ll have to wait a little bit longer as Rockstar has – once again -delayed the PC version. Yeap, you read that right. GTA V is now scheduled for an April 14th release on the PC.
As Rockstar noted, these additional weeks will give the development team enough time to further polish the PC version.
” Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game, but a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC. “
Rockstar claimed that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is its most graphically and technically advanced version yet, as it will be fully optimized to support a broad range of current hardware and will feature a host of PC-specific enhancements – including greater levels of detail, deep configuration options and ultra-high-definition support – as well as the powerful new Rockstar Editor for recording, staging and editing original custom videos.

Just Cause 3 Will Offer Proper Offline Mode, Won’t Force Players to Stay Always Online

In an interview with German PC gaming website, PCGames.de, Avalanche’s Roland Lesterlin revealed that the game will be completely playable offline, and that there won’t be any always-online restriction.
We want to make the game accessible to as many people as possible.” said Roland Lesterlin and when he was asked whether the game would be playable offline, Roland replied with one and only word.
“Absolutely.”
In Just Cause 3, players will take the role of Rico and will be able to explore a Mediterranean island paradise with complete vertical freedom.
Players will be able to glide through the air and swoop across mountains with your Wingsuit, and use their Grapple and Parachute to scale buildings, hijack vehicles, move quickly or tether objects together for creative new ways to cause Chaos.

Battlefield 5 release date pegged for Q4 2016

EA has confirmed that the next Battlefield game, after Hardline, will be released in the last quarter of 2016, most likely October 2016 (BF4 and BF3 both launched in late-October).

Developers at DICE are currently working on Battlefield 5, but they are also working on several other titles. A big portion of the workforce is working on the next Star Wars Battlefront title, which is expected to be released later this year. Then there are also developers still working on Battlefield 4 (on patches, new content, etc.), and there are developers helping with the upcoming Hardline.
DICE has two offices: the main office in Stockholm, Sweden, and a smaller office in Los Angeles, which was worked on a lot of the BF4 expansions and patches.
EA had already confirmed that Battlefield 5 will be “military-themed”, that is, it won’t be a cops vs robbers game like Hardline.
Battlefield 5 should be the first next-gen-only Battlefield game, as we doubt EA and DICE will throw resources at PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.

Treyarch To Release Call Of Duty Title Loaded With Innovation Later This Year

Activision has officially announced that Treyarch is working on a Call of Duty title for release later this year. The upcoming is pencilled in for the usual Q4 release, with Activision claiming this new outing will be “loaded with innovation.”

The upcoming title will be Treyarch’s first Call of Duty game to benefit from the new three-year development cycle. Having previously worked on Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, thoughts inevitably turn to a third Black Ops outing, but this may not be the case if a possible recent leak is anything to go by.

A rather sketchy leak hints at a possible game dubbed Call of Duty: Borderlines, although this is anything but concrete yet. Predictably Activision believes Treyarch’s new title will be “one of our best games yet.”

Borderlands 3 Confirmed by Take-Two Interactive, Current-Gen Only

Following their Q3 financial report, Take-Two has today confirmed the existence (or imminent existence) of Borderlands 3 during their earnings call. Not as it was much of a surprise, but Take-Two has also confirmed that they will be publishing the game upon release through their 2K Games subsidiary.

Borderlands 3 will officially be the fourth game in the series, following last year’s Pre-Sequel, and the fifth console game including Telltale’s Tales from the Borderlands. The game will be exclusive to current-gen consoles and PC.

Sony Online Entertainment Sold to Private Investment Firm

Columbus Nova, a private investment firm based in New York, has reportedly purchased Sony Online Entertainment, of Everquest fame, renaming the developer Daybreak Game Studio. SOE was recently most well known for H1Z1 as well as PlanetSide 2 and were also developing a sequel in their EverQuest franchise.
SOE President John Smedley will remain on board as president of Daybreak. Given some of Smedley’s tweets, it seems Daybreak may also end up developing games for Xbox One now. Previously SOE’s game development was restricted by Sony to Playstation and PC.
The developer has met with some controversy as of late and has struggled to develop consistent hits as their bread and butter, the MMO genre, gave way to free-to-play business models. Sony likely sold the studio in an attempt to unload unprofitable (or less profitable assets) as they prepare to report another quarter of losses in their upcoming financial report. The full report has been delayed due to the hack Sony suffered, allegedly at the hands of the North Korean government.

Rumor: Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Will Come To The PC This April According To Online Retailer

According to Czech retailer Playman, Assassin’s Creed: Rogue will be coming to the PC this April. Naturally – and since Ubisoft has not revealed any official release date – we suggest taking it with a grain of salt.

Set in the middle of the 18th century during the Seven Years War, Assassin’s Creed Rogue gives players new locations across North America to explore, including the frozen North Atlantic, the Appalachian River Valley and New York.
In Assassin’s Creed Rogue, players experience the Assassin’s Creed universe through the eyes of a Templar. As Shay Patrick Cormac, players suffer the brotherhood’s betrayal and transform into an Assassin hunter.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more. Oh, and let’s hope that Ubisoft will release a new update for Unity before releasing this new AC title.
