Grand Theft Auto 5 PC System Requirements To Be Revealed Within Days

Finally we can almost quit our grumbling, as Rockstar has revealed that development on the PC port of Grand Theft Auto V is practically complete, with some intensive testing going on ahead of a full system requirements announcement within the next week.

It’s been a long old wait, over 16 months in fact, but Rockstar’s open-world masterpiece is tantalisingly close to arriving in PC-land. It’s currently in the final stages of testing, which should mean it’s well on track to finishing up development ahead of its January 27th release date.

Answering a question on the Newswire, a Rockstar representative wrote “We’re presently in the final stages of development on the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V and hope to have confirmed official system requirements to share soon here at the Newswire, please stay tuned for that to be announced in the coming week. Thank you and we’re very excited to bring GTAV to the PC gaming community!”

Rockstar also confirmed that any progress made on any of the console versions of GTA Online will be transferrable to PC, including all of your cash, equipment, and progression, so if you've been busy ploughing through it on console, all is not lost. The Online Heists will also be coming to PC, with a release scheduled alongside the console versions.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain release date listed by multiple retailers

It looks like the release date has been discovered for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.Multiple retailers, including Microsoft Store and Rakuten, are expecting that the videogame will be launching on the 24th of February in the U.S.
The launch falls on Tuesday, which, of course, is when most new releases are made available to the public. Fans previously speculated that Kojima Productions was going to be making an announcement on Christmas Day based on several hints made by Hideo Kojima. It looks like that is may be related to the release date after all.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is set nine years after Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. The follow-up added some new elements such as having a partner in missions, Mother Base management, day-night cycle, real-time weather and a lot more. Fans that complained about the short length of Ground Zeroes should be happy to know that the next release is going to be exponentially bigger. Not to mention that it will also come with Metal Gear Online 3, which was shown off recently during The Game Awards.

Bandai Namco Games’ Katsuhiro Harada Hints At Tekken 7 Coming To The PC

Tekken 7 will be powered by Unreal Engine 4 and while a PC version is rumored to be coming out, there is still no official word from Bandai Namco Games about such a version. Still, during an interview with Korean website inven, Bandai Namco Games’ Katsuhiro Harada hinted at this new fighting game finally coming to our platform.
As Harada said when asked about a possible PC version, Bandai Namco Games has not determined yet the platforms in which Tekken 7 will appear (other of course than the arcade version).
“We have not yet decided or confirmed platforms other than arcade since it is not done yet. We are considering a PC version for certain countries that prefer or need to play on PC.”
So there you have it everyone. Harada also claimed that further optimizations would need to be made due to the game’s use of Unreal Engine 4. These optimizations will be essential for bringing this fighting game to other platforms, and thus increasing the game’s player base.

Dishonored 2 Rumors Could Prove To Be True!

According to a couple of news outlets this week, all of those rumors that have been flying around about Dishonored 2 could prove to be true. The second installment to the game series is expected to be revealed at Gamescon 2014. The game is expected to be released in the next year and when it is, will be compatible with the PC, Xbox One and PS4. This is not the first time that the rumors were almost confirmed. Bethesda has been giving subtle hints about the second game in the series here and there, so if you have been paying attention you would have caught that.
The sequel to the popular original is expected to be called Dishonored 2: Darkness of Tyvia, but even with a name video game reporters were not sure the game would ever become a reality. At the E3 convention this year, the game was partnered with a fact sheet, but that did not seem to be enough confirmation in anyone’s eyes at the time. One online source reportedly posted information from an unnamed source that show that production on the game has picked up.
If the rumors are right, the new game will feature Harvey Smith as the lead with a new protagonist. The new character has yet to be named, however it was rumored that players would be able to take on the role of Emily Kaldwin suggesting a later time period for the game. As of right now, video game lovers from all over the world will take whatever information they can get, even if it is only rumors. That is the general consensus of the current rumors in regards to gameplay, the release date is a whole other rumor mill.
Because there are plenty of places to find rumors online, it can be hard to narrow it down to actual information. When sources are not named and the information is old, it will not be credible most of the time. The release date for Dishonored 2 was rumored for 2015 for a little while now and by more than one source. The exact release day, or even month was not mentioned until this week. According to an online source, an email tipster brought the release date to their attention.
It would appear that Gamescon is where you are going to hear the most about the game and that it should be on store shelves by November of next year. That is just in time for the busy, holiday shopping season. Bethesda has not commented on the rumors or any other information at this time, but that is expected to change as the release date gets closer.

Killer Instict May Hit The PC, Microsoft Gathering Community Feedback

It appears that Microsoft is currently looking into bringing Killer Instict to the PC. Microsoft Studios’ creative director Adam Isgreen is gathering community feedback on whether Microsoft should release this fighting free-to-play game to our platform.
In addition, a poll has been added to the official KI forum. Do note that this poll closes on January 9th, 2015, so make sure to cast your vote if you are interested in a PC version of Killer Instict.
This is definitely a nice surprise from Microsoft. Moreover – and since SFV will offer it – we hope that Killer Instict will offer cross-platform functionalities between the PC and the Xbox One versions. This could be a huge feature, and one that would definitely keep the game’s fanbase intact.

GTA V Already Runs At 60FPS On The PC, “Max Payne 3″ Team Handling The PC Version

Let’s all admit one thing: GTA IV was an unoptimized mess, a performance hog title, and a game that was easily described as one of the most unoptimized games of 2008. Sure thing, Rockstar’s open world game runs better today – thanks mainly to new CPU processors – but its multi-core CPU support is still quite… laughable. Which really made everyone wonder whether the upcoming PC version of GTA V would suffer from such ‘porting’ issues. Well, apparently GTA V PC is shaping up just fine as it already runs at 60FPS on the PC.
As our dear friends over at Alt-Tab reported, the PC version already runs at 60FPS on the PC according to a Rockstar developer that worked on GTA V’s online mode for all the current-gen platforms.
Unfortunately, the developer did not reveal the specs of Rockstar’s testing machines. Still, let’s not forget that GTA IV had major performance issues even at the top-of-the-line PCs at its time of release.
Moreover, the developer claimed that the team responsible for the PC version of GTA V is no other than the one responsible for Max Payne 3 PC. The PC version of Max Payne 3 was phenomenal, and is described by everyone as one of the best PC versions of any game in recent years. Therefore, it’s good to know that the very same team is bringing us GTA V.
Question now is whether the PC version of GTA V will feature any specific PC features (like higher resolution textures or any NVIDIA/AMD specific graphics options).
GTA V releases early next year on the PC.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt delayed to May 19th, 2015

CD Projekt RED took the wraps off a brand new The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt trailer this weekend, impressing many and provoking concern in others who believe that the game has suffered a visual downgrade since we last laid eyes on it.In addition CD Projekt RED issued a statement today revealing that The Witcher 3 has been delayed a further three months, and will now launch on May 19th worldwide. Whilst the game is nearing completion, the CD Projekt Board explain that it needs the extra time in order to ensure that as many bugs have been eliminated as possible, "to a level that will allow you to enjoy the game thoroughly."You can check the controversial Elder Blood trailer below, with many eagle-eyed viewers claiming that this latest trailer suffers from lower-resolution textures to what we’ve seen previously. Presumably CD Projekt RED would be running all of its trailers on the PC version, which could be worrying news, but we’d be surprised if the Polish video game developer hampered the PC version at all.The ire of the gaming community quickly grabbed the attention of CD Projekt RED, and community manager Marcin Momot responded, blaming the supposedly poor visual quality on Youtube’s compression."I believe some explanation is required here,” he reassured. “Unfortunately this time we've encountered some horrible YouTube compression problems. At this very moment we are working on fixing this and will upload another version of the trailer as soon as we can. It will present much higher quality. I want to assure you that there will be no downgrade – I see this game every day – it looks stunning."

It all looks pretty great so far to me but hey ho! The trailer itself reveals a few new returning faces, but CD Projekt RED is still keeping things pretty under wraps for now. During the announcement of this trailer though the developer did reveal that this third outing would contain at least one more playable character, which is rumoured to be a grey-haired woman called Ciri.Of the delay CD Projekt RED said; "We owe you an apology. We set the release date too hastily. It's a hard lesson, one to take to heart for the future. We know what we want to do to make Wild Hunt one of the best RPGs you will ever play. And we continue to work hard to achieve just that. So, we apologize and ask for your trust."

More Hints That WWE 2K15 Is Coming To The PC

While 2K Games has not revealed anything yet the rumored PC version of WWE 2K15, we got today some new information hinting towards such a release. According to Gamepressure – a division of GRY-OnLine S.A. leader in Polish entertainment vertical portals rankings – WWE 2K15 now targets an April 2015 release on the PC.
Not only that, but John Cena recently claimed that WWE 2K15 is coming on five platforms. We already know that the game is coming to PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and X360. So what is the fifth platform? Our guess is the PC, however it may also be PS Vita or WiiU.
Since 2K Games has not revealed anything yet, we strongly suggest taking everything you read with a grain of salt.
WWE 2K15 hit old-gen consoles on October 31st, and current-gen consoles on November 21st.
The PC version is rumored to be delayed five months as it now targets an April 2015 release.
Enjoy and kudos to our reader ‘Johanna_L’ for informing us!

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round confirmed for PC

Koei Tecmo released a batch of new screenshots and a trailer showing off the bonus costumes coming with Dead of Alive 5: Last Round in Japan.
The Ninja 2015 costumes, which will be included as first print bonuses, are nice, but probably won’t turn too many heads.
Things go downhill (or uphill, depending on the point on view… Or maybe in a valley…. Ok, ok… I’ll stop) very fast as we see the “Soft Sexy Costumes” set, a batch of 17 costumes definitely designed to showcase the Soft Engine technology included in the re-release game, and the (mostly) curvaceous bodies of the heroines in turn.
They definitely wouldn’t feel out of place in a soft porn flick, would they? They will be included as a bonus in the Collector’s Edition and Ultimate Edition.
Incidentally, the trailer also teases a new character, and includes the Steam logo, confirming a PC Release. The Steam listing was published today, also mentioning that the Windows version will release without online, but it will be patched in within three months from release on February 17th.
Interestingly, the PC version of the game offers the costume in tiers. The more people pre-purchase the game on steam, the more costumes will be unlocked as a pre-purchase option.
Judge for yourself just below, but be aware that some of it could be considered slightly not safe for work.

Exploring The Fictional World Of Medici In Just Cause 3

A lot of developers will buy photo books or travel videos based on the locations they're designing a game around; Avalanche Studios collects vacation photos. Anytime someone on staff gets back from a trip to the Mediterranean they send over their photos to Avalanche's art team and writes it off as a travel expense. Avalanche has used this database of photos to create the fictional world of Medici, the setting for Just Cause 3. To get a better understanding of this new world, we spoke with art director Zach Schlappi who walked us through the game's entire ecosphere.
"For Just Cause 3, we wanted a sort of new location, and no one has tackled the Mediterranean in the way we saw it. Of course, Assassin's Creed had Florence and Italy, but we were looking at Monaco and the central/southern Mediterranean. It's such a good area because it's a little bit of everything. Everyone's done South America. Everyone has done Eastern Russia, but we thought that the Mediterranean was an untapped resource. I looked at a span of places from Sicily to Northern Africa to Greece to Albania, which gave us a nice quilt to work with. There are some great dusty environments, and you get some of that hot hazy feeling, those beautiful emerald waters, and those great big skies. It seems like a great area to lay waste to, because it was so beautiful."
"A deep world has to have some culture, it has to have a lot of meaning, it can't be something that's throw-away or disposable. Medici is believable and yet very approachable. It's a place you might want to go on vacation, yet it has trouble. It has a dictatorship. After that, I wanted to ask ourselves, 'How do you play with that language in the environment?' So, I created a system of colors: grey, yellow, and red are the colors of oppression. While the pristine world is full of more natural colors. If you look at any picture of the Mediterranean you see blue skies, wheat fields, and a lot of lavender. If you look at all our concept art there is a constant color theme of golden ochre versus teal blue. It's always those two complementary colors bouncing around."
"We have five different biomes and they all have there own palette feel. Each one has an identity. There is an air of exploration and expanse as people travel the world. We have two different coasts. One that is brutal with jagged rocks and deep sea cliffs, and the other is very smooth and sandy were all the tourist go. As you wander further inland you have the pastoral areas, which are full of fields of lavender and sunflowers like in Italy or Spain. That adds a sense of the human element to the game; this is a place where people live. It also creates a contrast for the scrublands which is like the Mediterranean wild west, which is full of industry and deforestation. Beyond that you have the forest, which are full of mystery and have a smokey atmosphere. Finally, players will approach the icy mountains. So players have this full sense of progression of all representations of water, from mountain snow to watery coasts."

Next Year's Big Assassin's Creed is Set In Victorian London

"It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we're disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public," a representative said. "The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we're excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin's Creed Unity for players."
The original story is below.

2015's Assassin's Creed game is set in 19th century London--the Victorian Era to be precise--and will be called (or is codenamed) Assassin's Creed Victory, according to a report today from Kotaku. The game will reportedly be released next fall for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, according to a source.

Kotaku's source says development on Victory will be led by Ubisoft's office in Quebec. This is notable because it's a shift away from Ubisoft Montreal, which has been lead developer on most major games in the series since its inception in 2007.
The site's source also says Victory will be the only major Assassin's Creed game out next fall, and that it's coming only to current-generation consoles. This is a change of form from this year, as Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed Unity for current-gen consoles and Assassin's Creed Rogue for last-gen.

A seven-minute "target gameplay footage" video of Victory shows off an in-development version of the game that Kotaku reports runs on Ubisoft's Anvil engine, the same technology behind Unity. The video reveals a sequence that sees an unspecified main character running through London and jumping onto a train to fight off Templar enemies.
It also shows a new grappling hook item that could have a dramatic effect on gameplay. According to Kotaku, the grappling hook allows the main character to attach to almost any surface, allowing the player to quickly close in on a target or escape with great speed.

Battlefield Hardline is a TV-style stealth game and very different from Battlefield 4 !

With its overall seven game modes, Battlefield Hardline is a lot different that 2014's Battlefield 4.

Visceral says the game's brand new modes, TV-style story campaign, and eSports focus will make it stand out.

Visceral Games creative director Steve Papoutsis said the game's five brand-new modes will make Hardline stand out compared to last year's game.

"The new game modes are very unique and never been seen in the history of Battlefield series. One such mode involves high speed car chases and high-octane gunfights. Overall, Hardline will have seven modes and nine maps at launch"

About the game's setting and story, Steve Papoutsis said "Hardline offers up a cops-and-robbers narrative. Hardline's campaign will be very different than anything you've seen in Battlefield before. The story will unfold like a TV show in some respects, and Papoutsis says its cinematics, character development, and episode structure are all new elements for the Battlefield series."
He further added "While past Battlefield games were somewhat linear, players will have more freedom to take on missions how they want to in Hardline's story mode."

"Overall, I feel like what we're creating is a significant entry for the franchise, and we hope people see it that way," he said.

Assassin's Creed's Paris vs Paris

Damien Hypolite, who by day works for Sciences et Avenir, is also a bit of an Assassin's Creed fan. Seeing as the latest game is set in Paris, he figured he'd print out some screenshots, take them to the actual spots in the real world they're based on, and see how they shape up.

Denuvo DRM System Has Been Cracked

3DM has reported that it’s been able to crack the latest DRM system, Denuvo, that was used in FIFA 15, Lords of the Fallen and Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Denuvo has been a great DRM system as it was able to protect FIFA 15 for two months and Lords of the Fallen for one whole month.
And since Dragon Age: Inquisition – Bioware’s highly anticipated RPG – has been released with this DRM, a Chinese team decided to prove that everything can – eventually – be ‘unlocked.’
As always, we do not allow links so there is really no reason at all attempting to share one – your comments will be deleted.
Denuvo reminded us of Starforce; another DRM system that took crackers a while to crack.
Some users also claimed that Denuvo was responsible for damaging their SSDs, while others claimed that Lords of the Fallen’s performance issues were due to this particular DRM system.
Before closing, we should note that the Chinese team has cracked the DRM system only. This does not mean that there is any working crack at the moment, however it opens up the road for ones.
It will be interesting to see what the team responsible for this DRM will do about this whole thing, and whether it will further enhance or tweak it in order to counter-attack the attempts of the scene groups.
