Alien Isolation Will Be About 15 Hours Long, Or Even Quicker When Played Stealthily

Lead game designer at Creative Assembly, Gary Napper, has claimed that Alien Isolation is about 15 hours in length, while those who play it stealthily will be able to get through it even quicker.
Napper made the announcement during a recent podcast, claiming that a normal playthrough will take about 15 hours, aided by significant narrative portions and dependent on the behaviour of the roving Xenomorph. Those who like to sneak around though may the experience is over even sooner…
Set aboard the space station Sevastopol, Ellen Ripley’s daughter Amanda is investigating the disappearance of her mother. The Sevastopol is open-world-esque in nature, with Napper comparing it to the Metroidvania style of gameplay, meaning players will be able to backtrack with new abilities and unlock additional areas and routes.
Players who truly explore will find the experience much longer, but for those who play carefully and very stealthily, Napper warns that the experience can be over “fairly quickly.” Staying hidden in Alien: Isolation relies on staying silent, preventing explosions or gunshot noises that may attract the alien’s attention.
You won’t be alone on the Sevastopol either, with other humans, including workers and brigands, still lurking on the abandoned ship. It’s currently unknown whether these are all aggressors or not, but it should expand the tactical situations beyond hiding from the alien. Beware though, because at the slightest hint of gunfire the scuttling endoparasitoid will be after your blood.
