Rise Of The Tomb Raider Coming To Last-Gen As Well As PC And Next-Gen

E3 2014 was the forum for a whole host of next-gen console exclusives, so when Rise of The Tomb Raider popped up in Microsoft’s E3 2014 conference last week, many questioned just how many platforms the game would come to.
We always - perhaps naively - assumed that Rise Of The Tomb Raider would be coming to PS4 and PC in spite of the fact that it was announced by Microsoft. Thanks to a recent Amazon listing, it seems we were right, but our guesses fell short. Rise of the Tomb Raider will also be coming to last-gen consoles, meaning those still sticking with their PlayStation 3 or Xbox One will be able to access the game too...
According to the Amazon listing, Rise of the Tomb Raider will be coming to PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC also. Of course, Amazon listings are frequently unreliable, so this could be a placeholder, but it seems plausible that developers Crystal Dynamics would want to exploit the vast user bases still enjoyed by last-gen consoles. There has already been some grumbling on internetland regarding the graphical impact on the game if it comes to last-gen consoles with their more limited hardware. However, there’s every chance that Crystal Dynamics could take a similar angle to the one they did with their Tomb Raider reboot; offering higher texture resolutions and details for the PC and next-gen versions of the game.
Lara Croft had an excellent E3 2014. Not only was Rise of the Tomb Raider announced as a sequel to to 2013 Tomb Raider reboot, but we also saw some gameplay of exciting looking 4-way co-op Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, a puzzle game that draws on last-gen title Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.
