Ryse: Son Of Rome Confirmed For PC Release Later This Year

Crytek has confirmed that its gladiatorial action-adventure Ryse: Son of Rome will be stepping into the PC arena this coming Autumn, published by Deep Silver. The previously Xbox One-exclusive Ryse: Son of Rome will be coming over with support for 4K resolution and packing all of the DLC released for the Xbox One version since its launch in November 2013.

The full round-up of DLC includes the Colosseum Pack, the Dual of Fates Pack, the Mars’ Chosen Pack, and the Morituri Pack, as well as access to the Legionnaire’s Trust sword and the Ruins multiplayer map which was included with special editions.

"4K gaming is another leap in graphics quality for PC gamers and Ryse is the perfect showcase for what's now possible in high-end PC games," Crytek business development chief Carl Jones said.

"We've given our team the opportunity to show what CryEngine can really achieve, without compromising quality, thanks to the incredible hardware available now to PC gamers. Ryse will be a benchmark PC graphics showcase this year and probably for a long time in future. Our community asked for a Ryse PC version, and we have the means and technology to deliver this title with the highest quality possible."

Ryse: Son of Rome is still to this day the best-looking Xbox One title, combining some absolutely stunning environments with its bloodthirsty combat. There's no word on the Ryse: Son of Rome system requirements for PC just yet, but we'll be sure to bring you them as soon as hear. Judging from gameplay footage we would expect the PC version of Ryse to have pretty demanding system requirements, although it remains to be seen how scalable Crytek makes its visuals.

Deep Silver will be publishing Ryse: Son of Rome later this year on PC.
